The AWARE Mobile Application respects your privacy and is committed to protecting any personal information you share with us.

1. Information We Collect

Location Information: The App may collect your device’s approximate or precise location (depending on your permission settings) to provide accurate weather information, alerts, and localized governance updates. Location data is collected only when you grant explicit permission and can be disabled anytime from your device settings.

Push Notification Tokens: We collect a unique device notification token (generated by Google or Apple) to send weather alerts, emergency notifications, and governance messages relevant to your area. This token does not contain any personal information and is used exclusively for delivering notifications. AWARE does not collect any device identifiers, personal details, or analytics data.

2. How We Use the Information

• Providing localized weather forecasts, emergency alerts, and governance updates.
• Sending push notifications based on your current or selected location.
• Ensuring the proper delivery of notifications and related app functionality.

We do not sell, rent, or share your location or notification data with any third party for marketing or advertising.

3. Data Storage & Retention

Location data is not stored permanently and is processed temporarily to determine your nearest region or relevant weather/governance data. Notification tokens are stored securely only to maintain push notification functionality. All data is encrypted and retained only as long as necessary to provide the intended services.

4. Permissions Required

• Location (Approximate or Precise): To determine your region for localized weather and governance updates.
• Push Notifications: To send alerts and updates relevant to your area.

You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device’s settings.

5. Data Sharing

AWARE does not share any identifiable user data with third parties. Aggregated or anonymized data may be used only for public service reporting or statistical purposes, following applicable government data protection guidelines.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, no system is completely secure, and AWARE cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.

7. Children’s Privacy

The AWARE App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect or store personal information from minors.

8. User Rights

• Disable location access to stop sharing your location.
• Turn off notifications if you do not wish to receive alerts.
• Uninstall the App to stop all data collection immediately.

9. Policy Updates

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Any changes will be reflected on the official website, along with a new “Last Updated” date.

By using this Application, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

All content on the AWARE Mobile Application — including text, graphics, logos, images, and data — is the property of AWARE unless otherwise stated.

• Content may not be reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted, or distributed in any form without prior written permission from AWARE.
• Limited use of information is permitted for personal, non-commercial purposes, provided it is not modified and proper credit is given to AWARE.
• Any unauthorized use of the Application’s content or underlying code may invite legal action under applicable copyright laws.
